I am a licensed clinical social worker providing psychotherapy in private practice in Cazenovia, NY. Since my graduation from the University of Michigan School of Social Work, I have been in practice for 35 years. I am a long-time meditator and meditation instructor, having taught Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for 15 years. I have taught a MBSR course is entitled “Mindful Living and Stress Reduction” (MLSR) sponsored by Crouse Hospital’s Integrative Medicine Department, based on the model developed by renowned teacher and author, Jon Kabat-Zinn. I have also taught, as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University in the David B. Falk School of Sport and Human Dynamics. Additionally, I have offered multiple workshops on mindfulness, mindful eating and stress reduction. My professional training includes the University of Massachusetts MBSR in Mind-Body Medicine with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD and Saki Santorelli, EdD, MA and Advanced MBSR Teacher Training through the Center for Mindfulness at University of California San Diego. My other interests include mindfulness and creativity, and I am a certified SoulCollage® facilitator. I have offered workshops in SoulCollage® to businesses, small groups and a synagogue. I am a certified Kripalu yoga instructor and have taught yoga at Cazenovia College and other settings. In the spring of 2016 I will be offering the MBSR course at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia, a very peaceful and beautiful venue. I consider myself an enthusiastic life long learner. I am very active in outdoor recreation and an avid dog lover.
